Brief information :
The GT’s price tag is an additional $40,200 over the R8 5.2 with R-Tronic, which is the only available transmission on the GT. The 5.2-liter V-10 has been massaged to gain 35 more, bringing the grand total of 560 horsepower. Combined with some serious weight reduction — at 3535 pounds, the GT is approximately 180 pounds lighter than the 5.2 — it achieves 0 to 62 mph in 3.6 seconds and a top speed of 199 mph. The weight savings are made my extensive use of carbon fiber and aluminum throughout the body and components, which also help to lower the R8 GT’s center of gravity as well. Quattro all-wheel drive is standard.
If you want (and can afford) an R8 GT, good luck getting one. Audi is only producing 333 units of the GT, with only 90 of those coming stateside.
